IRIDOLOGYIridology (also known as iris diagnosis) is a safe, useful assessment tool which can be dated back to Hippocrates as an original practitioner. Today, it is used by a trained Iridologist to help pinpoint health problems and imbalances in the body. This complementary treatment assists the Iridologist in determining current ill health, guiding you to managing future optimum health. WHAT WILL IT SHOW?Iridology can be helpful in determining the causes of symptoms and conditions. Emotional and mental states, inflammation, congestion, body constitution such as strengths/weaknesses, and toxicity, can all be assessed by the changes in the pattern of the iris. These can be found in the colours, marks and signs in the iris which mirror specific parts of the body’s organs and systems. BODY CONSTITUTIONYour constitution is your inherent physical and emotional make-up. Each body constitution can represent one's strengths, weaknesses, lifestyle habits and inherited characteristics. For example; people with strong constitutions will have inherent strength to battle illness and restore their health quickly. Your Iridologist will look to see if the fibres, or threads, in the iris are closely knitted together, irregular, straight, zig-zagged or criss-crossed, showing your structural type to be either Silk, Linen, Hessian or Net. Or perhaps a combination of two structural types such as Silk/Linen. Structure is important to the Iridologist as it can reflect mineral imbalance and structural breakdown of a body area.
It has been argued that about 80% of characteristics (such as type of skin, length of bones) seen in the iris are hereditarily derived, whilst the remaining 20% (such as emotions) are acquired. | | | | Structural types can be determined by their fibre patterns. The iris above on the left has a very strong constitution - this is known as a SILK iris and is the strongest constitution of all. Note: straight tight-knit fibres closely woven together indicating that the body is able to recover quickly. This structural type has the ability to overcome tiredness and work endless hours, possessing physical strength beyond the other body types. | The iris above does not have a constitution as strong as the SILK. The fibres are not as straight, nor are they as closely knitted together. The weave is open and has irregular thickness. This is known as a HESSIAN iris and because it is a weaker constitution will therefore have more inherent weaknesses in the body. Metabolic processes will be slower and they will need to take extra care with diet and lifestyle choices. | IRIS SIGNS Special signs such as; the lymphatic rosary, nerve rings, radii solaris, psoric spots and the sodium ring can be found in your iris. The iris on the left is one of the many iris signs that will alert your trained Iridologist to your past and current health issues. This sign is called a Sodium Ring, also known as Cholesterol Ring, which is an indication of chemical imbalance. The colour and width of this sign will vary depending on the severity of the condition.
Note the outer white cloudy ring which suggests high cholesterol and hardening of the arteries. The person who has this sign in their iris will often lack concentration, may complain of "foggy brain", aches and/or pains and hypertension. And they will probably feel stiff around the joints. Diet and supplementation will need to be addressed to improve circulation, stiffening and hardening processes. If you have this sign in your iris, you should also visit with your doctor for a cholesterol check-up. IRIS COLOUR
Is it genetic blue or genetic brown? Today there are a variety of iris colours due to mixture of races, drugs, toxins etc. However there are only two basic iris colours; blue and brown. People with hazel eyes will be surprised to find that in fact they have a blue iris with deposits of yellow toxins - yellow on top of blue - makes green/hazel colour. Iris colour is a record of your body function. Your Iridologist will look for different colour patches, streaks and spots to determine which parts of the body organs and tissues will need addressing. Blue iris colour can be found in those who are of Nordic, European and Anglo-Saxon races and will be more prone to acid/inflammation and congestion conditions. The degree of deterioration, inflammation and congestion are easy to see in this coloured iris. For example; it may be white, yellow or brown. Brown iris colour can be found in those of Mediterranean, African and Asian origin and will be more prone towards digestive disorders, low mineral status and nervous dysfunction conditions. The brown iris colour (see above) can prove difficult for Iridologists to read due to the depth of colour. People who have this type are often predisposed to certain disorders such as mineral imbalances, digestive problems and endocrine gland problems. The Iridologist will need a good Iriscope, magnifying lens or digital camera.

If you answered YES to any of the above, then perhaps it's time for your iris assessment. To book your appointment with a trained Iridologist CLICK HERE
Taking a non-invasive iris photo during consultation at Dr Cabot's Camden Clinic.
A consultation can take up to an hour depending on one's health. Your trained Iridologist will either use a magnifying glass or a specially designed camera to enlarge the iris photo which can then be printed for your viewing. |
